A beautiful ribbon that does not fray or unravel, Petersham is a thick, sturdy, flexible woven ribbon used in tailoring, corsetry and dressmaking. It's defining feature is a flexible, scalloped edge that allows the ribbon to be easily shaped with a steam iron to conform to curves without puckering or wrinkling.
Petersham ribbon is often confused with grosgrain ribbon, however, Petersham's scalloped edge gives the ribbon the ‘turning’ qualities that allows for shaping, which is a fundamental requirement for fashion applications and blazer binding.
