Tessuti Fabrics
One of the highlights from the episode was speaking with the lovely Colette from Tessuti Fabrics. The story of how Tessuti began is a really lovely one, and that warm family vibe is something you can genuinely feel in everything they do.
Tessuti Fabrics has long been synonymous with quality, beautiful fabric, they are one of the true OGs of the sewing world. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.
Sizing and fit notes
I made a Size 1 and no fittings or alterations were needed. Which makes perfect sense, it's a robe! The relaxed silhouette means there's no need to stress about adjusting for your exact measurements, which makes the whole sewing experience that much more enjoyable and stress-free. It's also a huge part of what makes this such a perfect gift. You don't need to know someone's exact size or worry about getting the fit just right as a robe is wonderfully forgiving and works beautifully across a range of shapes and sizes.
The Pattern
The pattern was fantastic to work with as the instructions are really comprehensive. Whether you're an beginner sewist looking to level up or someone who just loves a well-written pattern, Tessuti has delivered here. I also really loved working with the hand drawn pattern, as it has a lovely nostalgic quality to it.
The Fabric
Kylie and I were lucky enough to be gifted the beautiful Harley Fabric from Tessuti Fabrics, which was a joy to work with. It has the perfect amount of drape and movement for the robe.

A swishy, drapey fabric really brings this robe to life and gives it that flowing, glamorous feel. However, if you're a beginner sewist, I'd suggest opting for something a little more stable and easier to handle. Slippery fabrics can be tricky to cut and sew accurately, so starting with a less drapey fabric will make the process much more enjoyable and set you up for success.
Tips and Take Aways!
First and foremost, take your time with this one. If you slow down and work through each step carefully, the result will be everything you hoped for. Trust the process! Definitely don't skip the stay/guide stitching on the cuffs and neck band and go carefully when cutting out the pattern.
The Tessuti Robe is a stunning, rewarding sew. It's lovely to wear and looks beautiful.
